April 23, 2010 -  Sappi Fine Paper North America has announced the launch of its  eQ Tool, an interactive web-based tool that allows companies to explore a full range of factors about sustainable paper, as well as demonstrates Sappi’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Sappi’s  eQ Tool was developed in consultancy with IDEO, an innovative global design firm, in order to provide stakeholders with a means to engage with the bigger environmental picture when choosing a paper supplier.  Within the eQ Tool, companies can explore greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy, waste management, carbon offsets, sustainably harvested wood and amounts of recycled fiber, and initiatives for sustainability.

The eQ Tool will also summarize your selected products and generate a customized statement of the environmental benefits of choosing papers from Sappi Fine Paper.

“Our newly launched eQ Tool is an engaging demonstration of our core commitment to sustainability,” commented Jennifer Miller, Executive Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Chief Sustainability Officer.  “This interactive tool reflects our dedication to transparency, reporting measurable results and stating publicly the goals we have set for future progress.  We recognize that the environmental performance of a paper supplier is an increasingly relevant and critical factor in choosing a product brand. The eQ Tool responds to that need and allows us to have a meaningful dialogue with our customers on a range of issues.”
