May 6, 2010 – In their third annual CSR report, Campbell’s looks back on the progress they have made in energy efficiency, nutrition and employee engagement, while outlining goals for the next 10 years in four key areas: Nourishing our Planet, Neighbors, Employees and Consumers.
The 2010 report, in outlining the company’s sustainability focus for the next decade, reveals that Campbell’s will be focusing on three major issues within their goals framework: the nutrition quality of their foods (and in turn their customers), their overall water consumption and engaging employees in their CSR efforts.
The 2020 goals outlined in the report are:
- Reducing the water and carbon emissions footprints of their product portfolio by half
- Reducing childhood obesity and hunger by 50% in their “hometown communities”
- 100 percent employee engagement in CSR and sustainability – each employee will have a CSR-oriented goal incorporated into their annual performance objectives
- Continuous improvement in reducing the sodium content of all their food products
Since 2008 Campbell’s has made significant progress in many of their announced CSR goals, including eliminating millions of pounds of excess packaging through energy-saving capital projects and fulfilling their $10 million charitable commitment to their “hometown” Camden, NJ.
